Awareness-Raising

In 2021 the advice office gave six workshops on gender-based violence as part of a project with The Solidarity Fund. These activities address underlying problems in the community, one of which is an ignorance of the protections offered by law.  For example, domestic violence and sexual abuse are so entrenched in some areas that many women and children do not know that they are illegal. The aim of educational activities is to raise awareness and enable people to identify, avoid and report abuse, and to be able to assert their rights without the help of the advice offices.

The advice office also conducts presentations in schools and community forums such as police stations, community halls and clinics on the subject of domestic violence, labour rights, rape, child abuse and maintenance laws.
