The office works closely with the local SAPS, where it is located
In 2021, 111 cases were referred to the office by partners such as the police, while in turn the office referred 119 cases to stakeholders.
The office is an important part of a network of local service providers, and works daily with stakeholders, making and receiving referrals. We work closely with Estcourt Police Station, The Department of Social Development (social workers and SASSA), provident funds, Legal Aid, The Department of Education and The Department of Health
The police, where the advice office is based, refers most cases to our office, along with Legal Aid. We refer cases where we are unable to solve a problem on our own. Referrals are always followed up by monitoring of the cases to ensure that clients receive the best service possible.
Many clients haven´t eaten in days, and advice office staff provide them with food, clothes and toys when they can.
