Partners
In 2021, our partners referred 135 cases to us, while in turn the office referred 126 cases to other stakeholders. Referrals were followed up by monitoring of cases to ensure that clients received the best service possible.
The office works daily with stakeholders such as Impendle Police Station, who are the main partner. The police regularly refer cases of domestic violence to us, and we refer cases for protection orders or to lay a charge to them.
On cases of child abuse we work closely with social workers at the Department of Social Development and with the NGO Child Welfare, referring cases to both partners. We refer cases of maintenance to the magistrate court, and the orders are then served by the police.
We work closely with traditional leaders and with the Department of Education, getting permission to visit schools to address learners. Municipal councillors, community care-givers and child health workers from the Department of Social Development help us to mobilise people for workshops and refer clients. We work with the NGOs Child Welfare South Africa, and Lifeline, referring cases and doing workshops and mediations together.
Many clients haven´t eaten in days, and advice office staff provide them with food, clothes and toys when they can.
If you can help, please contact our Head Office or an advice office directly to request banking details or more information. Even the smallest donation is appreciated.
