In 2021, our partners referred 476 cases to the office. These were mostly domestic violence cases referred by the magistrate court where the office is based. The court often refers cases to us so that we can assess whether a complainant wants a protection order or to undergo a mediation at our office. If they choose a protection order, we help them to fill in an application.
The office is an important part of a network of local service providers, and works daily with stakeholders, making and receiving case referrals. We work closely with traditional leaders, who often help us to organize workshops in their areas. We work with the Department of Education, getting permission to visit schools to address learners. When we organise workshops, we ask ward councillors and community care-givers from the Department of Health to invite people, which they do.
Many clients haven´t eaten in days, and advice office staff provide them with food, clothes and toys when they can.
If you can help, please contact our Head Office or an advice office directly to request banking details or more information. Even the smallest donation is appreciated.
